Friday was definitely better that Thursday. I made it to work with plenty of time to spare, I remembered all my gadgets, and the work flow and pace were much, much more tolerable.

If anyone is actually home on this beautiful evening, talk to me about email clients. Which one do you use and why?

I find myself wishing that I could somehow merge Outlook and Thunderbird into one program that will do exactly what I want, when I want.

There was plenty of fun to be had at the office. The Corporate Compliance Department came to our building to make nice – they brought us ceramic coffee mugs, ink pens, post it notes, and little badges with retractable hooks for our photo ID-slash-swipe cards.

No one wanted to be at the office today, including management. Things were very relaxed and we didn’t do much. That’s always good for a Friday.

Earlier this evening, while trying to confirm some dates, I ended up going to Google Groups and searching the ATH archives. I found so many funny things, like The Highlander: Liver Action Role Play, The Bus Trip, and the song contest from 1996. Good times, man.

That’s all the news that anyone might possibly find interesting, and Most Haunted begins in less than fifteen minutes. I’m outta here!

As seen in [personal profile] rontgenkatze's journal:

Please to use the word of the day in a sentence.

sybarite \SIB-uh-ryt\, noun:
A person devoted to luxury and pleasure.

There will be extra credit points for those choosing to write a complete paragraph, rather than a single sentence.

In the late 1980's, Clive Barker penned a novella titled "The Hellbound Heart" which led to the "Hellraiser" series of movies. Mr. Barker's race of demons were Cenobites, rather than sybarites, and he explored themes of sadomasochism - pain as a source of pleasure, and morality under duress and fear. I managed to finish watching the first film of the series, but didn't bother with any of the rest.
