 Did you grow up around religion? Would you change anything about that if you could?

Yes, my family attended church regularly – twice on Sundays and again on Wednesday night. We attended the Assemblies of God Pentecostal church.  I stopped attending at age 18, when my mother could no longer force me to go.

I feel that all Catholic, Protestant, and Evangelical churches would concentrate on the teachings of Christ, since they refer to themselves as “Christians”.  Additionally, they’re tax exempt; I believe they should completely stay out of politics.  If they want to be involved in the government, they should pay taxes, just like the rest of us.

we were catholic on paper, but didn't go to church except for funeral services. and the one time my mom got insistent about going to saturday late afternoon services for several months, until we all got sick from the incense burned at easter mass.

I'm still a believer, but I also consider myself a seeker. I'm reasonably intelligent, and don't need anyone to tell me what to think or how to act... I'm not a sheep.

Jesus was a really relaxed and groovy guy. He told us to take care of one another, tend to the sick, help the poor and imprisoned, protect children, and most importantly, judge not.

I realized around age 12-13, that the people of our church were not following those instructions.
