Groovin' on a Sunday Afternoon

I'm sitting here watching 'Dr. No' on USA and remembering the first time I saw it in 1966. [personal profile] rontgenkatze and I were terribly upset because the network preempted Star Trek so they could premier the movie. Our brother finally calmed us down with the reassurance, "Really, it's okay. You'll like it!"

I read this earlier; it may be common knowledge, but it was news to me and made me smile.

" . . . Connery starred with Lana Turner in 'Another Time, Another Place', and rumors of an affair reached her mobster boyfriend, Johnny Stompanato. On one occasion, Stompanato stormed onto a movie set in the UK and pointed a gun at Connery, only to have Connery take the gun from him, beat him, and force him from the movie set. Stompanato was deported for the offense as handguns were (and are) illegal in the UK. Rumors flew after Stompanato's death, that the mob held Connery responsible and the actor allegedly laid low until things blew over . . ."

It's been a pretty lazy weekend around these parts. What's everyone else doing?
